Presentation and Teaching Recognition at the AAN Annual Meeting 2026

At the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) Annual Meeting 2026 in Chicago, IL, members of our team joined the MAPStroke collaborative to present research using geospatial analysis to map stroke care accessibility across Oklahoma and identify gaps in access to specialized stroke services, particularly in rural communities. During the meeting, Dr. Faddi Saleh Velez also received the A.B. Baker Teacher Recognition Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to neurology education and mentorship.

Presentations at the International Stroke Conference 2026 in New Orleans, LA

The BrainStim & NeuroRehab Lab presented five investigator-led abstracts and contributed to nine multicenter collaborative studies at the International Stroke Conference (ISC) 2026 in New Orleans. The research covered stroke outcomes, post-stroke cognitive impairment, neurophysiology, metabolic recovery, prognostic modeling, and cervical artery dissection, highlighting both the lab's translational research efforts and its active role in large international collaborations. All abstracts were published in Stroke, Volume 57, Supplement 1 (February 2026).
