Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Peter graduated from Semmelweis University, Faculty of Medicine (Budapest, Hungary) with an MD degree, and he continued his training in bionics and engineering. He completed his PhD training in basic and theoretical medical sciences at the same institute with a major in cerebrovascular physiology. Currently, He is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in the Department of Neurosurgery. He joined the Translational GeroScience Laboratory, led by Dr. Andriy Yabluchanskiy, to study the pathomechanisms of cognitive aging and learn to conduct geroscience clinical trials. He intersect his existing expertise in cerebrovascular physiology and in advanced data analysis to identify novel biomarkers for the prevention of vascular cognitive impairment (VCI) in healthy aged persons and in high-risk geriatric patients. His research interest focuses on understanding the determinants of healthy and pathological brain aging, with a special emphasis on the vascular mechanisms of cognitive impairment. His current and future goal is to test and identify strategies for interventions targeting the microvascular, neurophysiological mechanisms and lifestyle to promote healthy management of cognitive status in the aged population. In his free time, He enjoy hiking, running, skiing, and doing other sports.
