Our Team

Dr. Parisa Ghasemi graduated from the School of Medicine at Arak University of Medical Sciences, Iran, in 2015. She has extensive experience, having served as a family physician for two years and a primary care physician for five years. Driven by a passion for helping others and a keen interest in disease prevention, cure, and outcomes, Dr. Ghasemi transitioned to research to further her impact in the medical field. In April 2024, she joined the MORE lab at the Health Promotion Research Center (HPRC) as a research assistant under the supervision of Dr. Motolani Adedipe. She is currently building a strong foundation in research methodologies, leveraging her medical background to contribute to the lab's objectives. Dr. Ghasemi relocated from Iran to the United States in August 2022 with her husband and son, marking a significant step in her professional and personal journey.

Gaurav Kumar joined the Health Promotion Research Center (HPRC) team in August 2024 as a Postdoctoral Fellow. He earned his PhD in Health Promotion from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where he focused on physical activity among cancer survivors using a mixed-methods approach. In addition to his PhD, he holds a Master’s in Public Health (MPH) with a major in Epidemiology from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. His research focuses on health promotion among diverse communities, cancer care, management, and behavior change research. His work aims to address health disparities and promote equitable health practices.
